No Longer at Job #1

As many people know, I have had two jobs forever. One was the bread-and-butter, the other was just for fun to have some spending money. As of Friday, June 20 I no longer work there.
I will be honest I was bummed for a few hours. That job sucked but the pay was decent, the perks were ok…ie Laptop, but other than that it was Hell. I hated my boss, I hated my position and to me the product was less than exciting. But it was familiar and reliable. I could count on a steady paycheck the 1st and the 15th. It was close to home and I had killer co-workers. So why was I only sad for a few hours? UNEMPLOYMENT!
I am getting close to my salary in unemployment. All I have to do is apply for 2 jobs a week and work less than 18 hours at job #2 and I get to cash in each week. Isn’t America great? This can last for up to 20 weeks! Knowing me I will be working 70 hours a week by the 4th of July, but just the thought of sitting around and collecting a paycheck makes me weep slightly.
The bad part of all of this is I lost my laptop and all the websites I had favorited. I no longer will get to see my coworkers and, well that is all. I miss my laptop and a handful of people. I really think this is going to turn out great. I get “free” money and I get to look for a job I might actually like! So, please don’t be sad for me, I am not sad at all.

I am car-less

Is car-less a word? Well it is now! So I sold the Mustang last week and feel liberated and depressed. This is the first time since 1997 that I have not owned at least one vehicle and I am lost. While my roommate Kamille has given me the use of the Female Pheasant for the summer I still need a car of my own, but I don’t know what to get. So I will list the options, you tell me what to do.
1) Buy a hung of crap 4-Wheel drive vehicle to tow stuff, go in the mountains, take skiing, get through the 3 foot snow days and use to haul crap to the dump, haul crap from Home Depot and take crap to the DI. I would then buy a real car….thinking 2002 or newer, low miles and decent gas mileage.
2) Buy a decent truck to do all the fun stuff and the work stuff but suffer on gas mileage all year long.
3) Buy a car that is completely irresponsible and a decent truck.
4) Just buy one decent car and borrow trucks, forget the mountains and skiing…on snowdays just hope for the best.
5) Ride my bike to work, to school, back to work, then to job #2 then home.
So those are my 5 options as I see them. I wont tell you where I am leaning, it could sway the vote. Below are links to some of the cars I want, click away!

Oh and the Female Pheasant is the name of Kamille’s Saturn. It is homely and drab like Female Pheasants.
