A book was purchased!
September 17, 2008
Our dear friend Jess bought a book…the blog shall live on!
I am pretty sure I am moving the day I graduate, I have none of the details figured out yet but all I know is I need a change. Today at work I found out there are rumors about me, not so nice rumors, they are the kind of rumors that could mess up a lot of stuff. Without going into a lot of details I am going back in the closet at work. I will not speak to anyone, I will not joke with anyone and I will take breaks in my car. I am going to be one of those people no one talks about because they blend into the background like telephone poles…no one notices telephone poles, but they are everywhere. I hate that because I am “different” I have to defend myself and my personal life from unsubstantiated, and untrue claims. I hate that because I am gay I automatically have no right to privacy of any kind, while straight people can have as much privacy as they want. Just another FYI I have told NO ONE I am gay at my place of work, NO ONE. The only people who do know are my friends that I have known for more than 4 years. My friends aren’t the ones talking shit, it is the people who don’t know me and assume my life is open for discussion. Without going into details, I had to go talk to my boss about it today, it got so bad I had to talk to my boss about me being a homosexual, awsome.
Oh and I have been told I can’t say “Peace out” anymore, it is a trademarked phrase, so if anyone has any suggestions for a new way for me to end my converstaions and posts, feel free to drop me a comment.
Jeff
Peace out is trademarked? By who? Who would want to trademark that lame ass phrase? You are always welcome to move to Salt Lake. Sure we’re not as small town as Logan but we do have more than one cab in town.
Let me know when I should stop buying cookies from your company. It’ll be a hard thing to give up. But I’m willing to do it to support you.
Oh Darling. I love you in or out of the closet.
PEACE OUT!!!
shocking, shocking, shocking.
Except for in CV.
I’m sorry Jeff
i say you sign off with:
suck it!
take that!
superstar!
or whatever.
dude. IM me. or call me tomorrow. let’s talk.
Man Jeff that blows. HOWEVER, remember you have RIGHTS. What is happening here is called harassment. I hope you realize that you COULD have these co-workers fired for pulling this crap. Personally, I would not recommend you “going back in the closet”. You are who you are and you are a wonderful person. You have no reason to hide who you are. My advise is to Document EVERYTHING. Dates, times, what was said/done, & by whom. Be specific. I hope your conversation with your supervisor went something like: “Some people I work with are making it very uncomfortable for me to do my job. I’d hate to have to file a suit for harassment, but I will do what I feel necessary to be treated equal.” Maybe he/she will take a hint and action. I’m sorry you have to go through this. It saddens me to see ignorant people acting in such a manner.
P.S. Keep using Peace Out. We won’t tattle.
Yeah and did your “boss” have anything to say? Will anything be done? I know how it works at the farm. Trust me you are not the only one who has had shit talked about them. It happens to pretty much everyone. Unless you are boring and very uninteresting. Just ask Jess I am sure she too had the same thing happen to her when she was there. That line just ain’t the same since Jess left. Some of those people are so MEAN and not just a little bit either. Come to my line we rock and we are nice!! Oh but you have school. This farmer love you the way you are!
I hope you took it to a boss not your lead… that would be a waste of time…
The touble with production work is you see the same people day after day, locked up in the same walls day after day,,, no days off, one if your lucky. People get a little stir crazy and they start talking all kinds of smack! People talk about you because you are interestin and funny and they aren’t. F’em. (Which is the phrase I would recommend!) After 21 years of the B.S. I can say that sooner or later they will have someone else to talk about and they will forget about you… and why do you think for the last 3 years I worked there I went to my car?? Most of those people aren’t worth the trouble. Keep me posted…I’ll come kick ass if I have to!!
Jeff: bored people. That’s all it is. Sad, tired, insanely unfulfilled bored people living boring lives and being boring while doing boring things. So they talk.
And I kinda like SUCK IT more than PEACE OUT.
